I do like articles that have proper depth to them and are written with a love for their subject matter. This definitely filled the boxes on that front and I thought the videos they put in were a nice touch!

Anyway my Australian friend, put another shrimp on the barbie and get me another Fosters me old mate, I'm off to watch Neighbours ... (starting in 5 mins UK time!)

Chart-Track themselves have said that this whole furore over the 82 percent drop is meaningless and if anyone does they should know a thing or two about trends and statistics on software and hardware sales.

Now let the data come in over the next few months so that we can form a more accurate picture of the market.

I was just elaborating from the Joystiq article where they said you needed a lot of free time to do something like this.

It's definitely very impressive, there's no question about that. You have to have a very good mix of design and programming skills to produce that kind of result and maximum respect to the guy.

As for my own constructive use of time, here I am submitting articles and posting comments, surely there's nothing more constructive in this world than ...

I think I'd feel sick as well knowing that I'd wasted actual, real, hard earned money watching one of Uwe's masterpieces.

Bloodrayne, House of the Dead, Alone in the Dark - which one should I treat myself to today I wonder?

I didn't mean to be cruel, but I suppose it's hard to tell my demeanor when you're reading text. I just found the Teachers' site funny!

That's the thing with this new Anonymous Posting method, I can't tell who I'm talking to! If I'd seen you were a Trainee I wouldn't have been so full on. I thought you were one of those contributors posting as many stories as they could find.

I tell you what, I'll give you some Positive Feedback as a consolation. How's that? Are ...

... and all, but am I missing something here, or is it basically just a dumpster on top of various vehicles?

That's like totally inventive dude! :p

Still, it does remind me of some of the cool stuff me and my friends have got up to in Halo 2. It's cool that you can do stuff that the developer never originally intended. Adds a whole new dimension to certain games.

What is it with the marketing departments of console manufacturers nowadays. I remember when I was a kid watching companies like Sega advertising games for their consoles with actual FOOTAGE! You could see how cool the game looked and wanted to go out and buy it.

Nowadays we seem to have entered some kind of weird abstract world where advertising companies are trying to be as clever as possible. Can't they at least show us, erm, you know ... some games ... being played ... by p...

Along with Doom 3, it still amazes me that they managed to actually get it to work on the original Xbox! Very impressive.

The only thing about playing on a console though is that you don't get access to all the user created mods, some of them are pretty cool and show a lot of imagination!

This is isn't surprising because once the hardcore gamers and loyal fans have bought a new console there's an inevitable large drop in sales (although the Wii may appear to be bucking that trend as it appeals to casual gamers).

Now the proper race can begin. In a few months we'll have a very good picture of how well the three consoles are selling against each other now that all of them have fully launched.

I reserve judgement until then.

... it's much appreciated.

I agree the express editions of Visual Studio are very productive. I'd been doing most of my programming in C++ and Win32 before but after I started using Visual C# productivity went up quite a bit. The Intellisense and the C# language itself speed up coding times.

From what I've used so far XNA basically seems like a wrapper for Managed DirectX so I've been finding it pretty easy to use. If you can do 99% of the stuff with XNA then I'm...

That's actually pretty impressive! I like the way that Mario and the other characters are completely flat yet they rotate around like 3D objects.

The backgrounds being in 3D is cool as well. Who says you need cutting edge 3D graphics to make a cool looking game?

Anyone know how much of a difference the SDK's are for the Xbox 360 Development Kits and XNA?

I know that the kits will use native code and no doubt the functions and documentation would be similar in style to Win32 and the Platform SDK. But is the code object orientated like GDI+ or is it all in standard C?

Crucially, how much EXTRA do you get for your $15,000 considering that XNA is free and the forthcoming Professional edition of XNA will no doubt be considera...

Considering that Wii's are like gold dust in the UK, it looks like that for some people, this may be the best chance they have of acquiring one !

You were ahead of your time, we shall never forget your innovation, alas market forces conspired against you.

Hear my cry (in Spartan accent):

Yeah you're right, they must have got on quite well for Hideo to reveal all that information. Looks like the camera gives a false sense of uneasiness - I like that they've both got their hands hidden away.

What are they trying to hide? Haha.

Still I can never smile properly when a picture is being taken. Here's some advice, the next time anyone's taking a picture of me (and I can see you all lining up to do so already), don't let me know. Keep it stealthy and you...

I admit this has nothing to do with the game but if you have a look at the fullsize photo of Luke and Hideo on the Kotaku website you have to come to the conclusion that those two are clearly not photogenic. At all.

That picture just cracks me up. I mean was that really the BEST one they took?! Haha.

Still you gotta have a laugh sometime hey! :p

Just a suggestion, but as it's been over 9 months since we had any NecroVisioN news on this site you may want to add to your description the following link to an old N4G story by Janx which shows some screenshots of the game:

It might bring the memories back for some people! :)

You know when a game is released on a particular platform and it doesn't make any logical sense? Well this is one of those cases!

Unless they release a Bluetooth Mini-Guitar add on for it, now that would make sense. Here's hoping ...

Firstly, you're right, it's always good to know whether people read your blog and if they liked it, cos it encourages you to write more.

But it's more an effect of the whole Blog system on this site. Because you don't have to click on a blog to read it (as it's already completely shown) unlike normally submitted articles it's hard to know exactly how many people have read it. Hopefully N4G will change the system soon and let blog entries appear on the front page like other stor...

I don't know whether these are in game shots or not, but man, look at the difference between these graphics and your typical PS2 game. That tank shot actually looks REAL!

The next generation is here (for the PS3 AND 360).
